About

Welcome to the Make It Count Blog

Hey there! I’m Jamie Couch, and I couldn’t be more excited that you’re here. Let me tell you a little about myself, why this blog exists, and the journey we’re about to take together.

Here’s the deal: Life is short. You already know that, but sometimes we need to feel it in our bones. I’ve learned—through some wins, plenty of struggles, and a lot of faith—that every moment matters. The big moments. The small ones. The messy, in-between ones. And I don’t want to waste a single one.

That’s why I’m writing this blog (and, spoiler alert, a book!). It’s called Make It Count: Because Life Happens Once, and it’s all about living with intention, urgency, and purpose. This isn’t about squeezing more into your calendar or hustling harder—it’s about cutting through the noise to focus on what truly matters.

Who Am I?

Well, like you, I wear a lot of hats. I’m a husband, dad, healthcare executive, pastor, former athlete, and someone who’s learning every day how to lead, love, and live well. My life has had its fair share of curveballs—health challenges, tough decisions, and moments of reflection that stopped me in my tracks. Those experiences are what shaped my belief that we can’t afford to live on autopilot.

I’ve seen how easily we can get stuck in the routine of life, measuring success by how busy we are instead of the legacy we leave. And I’ve also seen how, with a little intentionality, we can shift from just counting days to making our days count.

Why This Blog?

Here’s my heart: I want this blog to feel like a conversation between friends—a place where we can be real about life, faith, leadership, and purpose. I’ll be sharing stories from my own journey, practical tips, and maybe even a laugh or two along the way. Whether you’re here because you want to grow, feel stuck, or just need a little encouragement, I believe there’s something here for you.

So, welcome to the Make It Count blog. Let’s explore together what it looks like to live a life of purpose. Not a perfect life (because, let’s be honest, none of us have that), but a meaningful one.

The best part? We’re just getting started.

Let’s make it count.
